I'm Not Making This Up

My family and I were going to Bedford today for a little fun when we passed by this church sign. I want to provide a caption, or an explanation, but I just cannot. I guess, at least they are honest.

As Christy and I so often comment when we see really bad messages on church signs (which is way too often!):

That'll bring 'em in! ;)

Yeah-I have a good pastor friend who loves one-liners. He also puts "sayings" on their church signs. The latest was, "Church for rent after the rapture."

He just laughed and laughed; I just well, you know...shook my head, and well, you know...

Hey, I wanted to jump in the latest discussion about Bro. M's post at your blog, but Gordon beat me to the punch with many of my exact concerns. Since you two were already toe-to-toe,I didn't jump in the ring. Two on one ain't fair, and besides, you're bigger than me. ;)

yeah, I figured you'd side with Gordon there ;)

Steve,

I had considered leaving a comment at TM and forgo posting one here, since we began talking about it, but I read Brother Maynard's comment, and he summed up my initial reaction. He said, and I quoth; If you don’t feel that God is saying (or can say) anything to you through it, please just say “not for me” and move on.

I didn't want to sound hypercritical nor judgmental which is how I was afraid I might come off, so I moved on. I didn't want my discomfort with the post to tarnish perspective.

I think you'll understand...

Heather,

Perhaps their honesty will help their case, at least I hope. Thanks for dropping in!

Tony, I respect that completely. No one is ever obligated to comment. I treat my own reading/commenting that way, too. If it doesn't strike something in me, I just read it and move on.

Thanks for your heart in that, brother. I appreciate you! :)

Steve,

Cool--I knew you would understand. Maybe at another juncture in the space-time continuum we can take up the topic. It is worth discussing.

That's a rip. I'll link to it as part of my church sign collection

My favorite one, is Public Welcome Except during Church Functions Friendly Church.

Chris,

Thanks! I submitted it to the Crummy Church Signs blog, but haven't seen it up, yet. I hope it makes the cut.
