Hi Tony,
I always thought those black background with white letter "God" signs were tacky -- well, beyond tacky.

I don't like those signs either. This one however was on a baptist church marquee, not one of the ones you have described (which makes it worse, in my mind). Church signs have become a bit of a penchant with me. I have posted a bunch here on the blog...typically whenever I see one, I do a quick post, sometimes with a little commentary and sardonic wit. :)
